Just walk into the residences of gifted artists, mingle with the genius to learn the rarity of their living. You get a closer look into their life experiences, world views and wisdom.
Handloom and handicrafts add brilliance to the villages of Kerala. Saigramam’s Social Tourism comprises of a close encounter with the blessed craftsmen who work magic with yarns.
It’s all engrossing stories told about the life and messages of the holy trinity. Depicted are the epic lives of Goutam Budha, Shirdi Sai and Sathya Sai Baba. This is followed by three enticing art forms to get you on the edge of your seat.
Saigramam shelters a Senior citizen’s home, Orphanage, Play school, Kinder Garden, and a home for differently able children. Every inmate here needs a soothing touch and attention. A visit here unfurls truths of life, value of affection and importance of symbiotism in life.
Gandhi has taught that India lives in her villages. His idea is to build self-reliant villages that thrive upon local sources of employment, renewable energy and eco-friendly economy. A visit at Saigramam’s self-reliant villages is an education by itself about India that grows in villages.
Social Tourism of Saigramam also comprises of an overnight stay at neighbouring Mudakal Panchayat. Enjoy the unpretended life of villagers, stay with them to have a closer interaction with their untainted dreams and desires.
With a lot of folk performances that leave lingering memories
'Pava' means doll and 'koothu' means dance. It is a traditional glove puppetry show native to Kerala. This art form is performed mostly in the rural areas. This tradition can be traced back to almost 4 centuries (the 18th century) from Paruthippuly village of the Palakkad District.
Kakkarissi natakom is a satirical dance-drama based on the puranic legends of Lord Siva and his consort Parvati when they assumed human forms as Kakkalan and Kakkathi - a nomadic tribe of fortune tellers. The legend only serves as a skeletal framework for the play
Krishnanaattam was the dance-drama created by the Zamorin of Calicut, which deals with the life and activities of Lord Krishna. Its technique had the foundation of the folk drama and its content had a religious inspiration.
Kalaripayattu is an Indian martial art and fighting system that originated in Kerala and practiced by warriors of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. There is a mention about Tulunadan Kalari in the ballads of Kerala. In Kerala, the warriors belonged to all castes and religions.
